Martin Guitars have been holding strong as some of the finest instruments known to man for over 150 years. That’s a nice commitment to quality if you ask me, a testament to beauty.
When I look for a guitar I look for a wood that speaks to me. I like to see grain and it is hopefully dark. Something about it just makes me think of vintage. I also look for body style. Everybody has their own preferences.
The Martin 15 series 000-15SM is a guitar I can imagine somebody like Robert Johnson jumping onto the back of an old locomotive with. Small, genuine, solid, and with a slotted headstock.
The list price of this guitar is USD $ 1849.00. No small fee, but with the all mahogany construction of this 12/20 fret 000-size acoustic guitar, it’s probably fitting.
Word has it that Kenneth Pattengale of the Milk Carton Kids, a couple of folk stars out of LA, chooses this as his favorite guitar. My only question to you is would you play this finger picking or with a plastic pick?
